Old Man and the SeaPosted by Shutterbug (Chennai, India) on 20 September 2007 in People & Portrait and Portfolio. He might not be Hemmingway's old man and he doesn't even have a Santiago, but there he is and that's the backwaters of the Bay of Bengal behind him. Some focus colouring. Was tempted to blur but resisted! :)

Rabbit from Richmond, United Statesmmmm - i think your focus color is interesting... I like the expression you caught here. 20 Sep 2007 6:14pm e. from Washington DC, United StatesThis is a great shot. It certainly does have a Hemingway feel to it. Especially with the expression on his face. 20 Sep 2007 6:56pm Rebecca from Leicester, United KingdomWOW!! I really love your seaside shots, sir! And this one shows again why! There is such a strong sense of gritty reality and character amid the beauty…life the way it really is…most wonderfully done, Sir Shutterbug! 20 Sep 2007 9:21pm Yvon from Orléans, Francewonderfull picture from an old man very kind 20 Sep 2007 9:38pm Rags from Plano, United StatesLovely image! The "fisherman" seems too clean to be Hemingway's Old Man, but it does give the feel of experience and knowledge. 22 Sep 2007 3:01pm bronzebilly u.k. from Barry,Vale of Glamorgan, United Kingdomyou made the right decision on this one Shutterbug--no blurring gives the shot a great d.o.f.--great composition--billy 22 Sep 2007 10:03pm Ginnie from Atlanta, GA, United StatesYour selective coloring makes this pic for me! 23 Sep 2007 12:57am Olaide from Fort Collins, United Statesyou are a gifted photographer. Old men have something with the sea... By the way, this man doesn't seem that old to me, maybe it's because my own age :-). Picture evokes reflection, like the picture of the little girl... what would he think? 26 Sep 2007 7:36pm |
