Pied Panther

Quite a dud image, shot from a distance as the rarely-sighted panther appeared on our jungle safari. Ideally, it is nothing, which is why it is embellished by some photoshop.

I think its a lovely shot, and what a sight. I went looking for these big cats in India, in the
middle East, and in China - never got as close as you did - but then ended up seeing one close up here in the UK of all places.(Actually, loads were released by private collectors in the 1970's when it became illegal to keep them as pets, and there are weekly reports of sightings up and down the land)

Well done on the processing, it works for me.

There's a real sense of mystery to this picture - almost like peering through a keyhole at this beautiful creature, whether from the original shot or the photoshopping. Either way, it's brilliant! :)

Although you can't see his face, I think it works well, it's like you are spying on him from a hide in the undergrowth!

@ Richard, thanks so much! In fact the guide told us were lucky, because it was not just this fellow, but his mate too sunning themselves in the shrub jungle...
As for coming face up with the guy, well, in retrospect, I appreciate the distance! :)

rams. its a good shot. any shot capturing the wild is not wasted. had you been lucky, the fellow would have shown his face. did you not wait (for him to turn around)? to me, photoshop has spoit the mood of the wild and the picture
