Jelly Fish again. But if we were to evaluate these images as a process in Evolution, I think this particular image will be right in the beginning of the cycle. Where it all begins; where it all ends.

Another absolutely fabulous and intriguing take, Shutterbug! :) Really appreciate your deeper, thoughtful, perspective on the seemingly ordinary things we see in life. Speaking of evolution, our household has a particular interest in it, (my husband studied natural sciences and medicine in Cambridge, and in between his medical practice years completed a medical/scientific DPhil in Oxford, and now whilst practising medicine still encounters fascinating aspects of the subject!) so please forgive my effusive response on this :) . I must say regretfully, that for too long there seems to have been a widely-held false notion that believers in the one God are not believers (or cannot be) believers in the evolutionary process that we see around us and in the very very "old age" of the earth. For a long time too though, there have been eminent Christian scientists who hold no such false notion, but have rarely been heard by the public (likely because they are so involved and good in their scientific work, they rarely find the time for a public voice! *-) ). So it has been such a breath of fresh air to our household that the eminent scientist, Francis Collins (head of the Human Genome Project) has finally penned a long-needed book that has really helped to set the record straight - 'The Language of God' -which has become a much-loved book on our shelves! Just seeing your love for science and good reasoning which seems to come across from your superb photographs, I just thought you might appreciate the science and good reasoning in Dr Collins' superb book too. Just a thought, though. Have a lovely weekend in any case! :)

@ Rebecca, Wow! Thank you for taking so much time out here...Appreciate it! You've mentioned the Human Genome Project, I've actually met an Indian, Dr.Hameed Khan, who's on the HGP and it really excited me that you gave me the link to Collins' book! I must read it, for I've believed for a long while that that the best scientists and surgeons have the strongest faith in an extra-human power. I think I'll buy the book! :)

wow, this is really cool. it looks almost like an x-ray of a jellyfish. well, i know an actual x-ray wouldn't look like that, but the idea is there. very neat.
